Project 01

“Window Display Re-Work”

Introduction Assignment: Students evaluate the current Aerie window display in the Mall of America. After determining the current strengths, weaknesses and researching the brand image students are to create a new display. Any medium can be used, but it is encouraged to be as creative as possible.

This is an opportunity to assess technical abilities that we can build upon.

Project 02

“What is Visual Merchandising?”

Introduction Assignment: Students are to consider what visual merchandising means to them and reflect on the importance, key elements and design principals, as well as how visual merchandising is integrated across all industries. They are assigned the task of creating a visual documentation, or mood board that depicts the found research.

Any medium can be used, but it is encouraged to be as creative as possible.This is an opportunity to assess technical abilities that we can build upon.

Project 03

Home Fashion Wall Planogram

Mid-level Assignment: Students are to source products and create a planogram within Illustrator. This assignment allows opportunity to practice learned visual merchandising techniques and display product for a specific season and line.

Project 03

Store Development Process

Final Project: Students are to create a comprehensive 3-D store environment with applicable displays incorporating all learning from the course modules using Sketch-Up.
